Congratulations!
Congratulations to Dr. Ayesha Boyce, who married Ayobamidele Akinruli on May 27!
From Ayesha: “We were married at the Greensboro Civil Magistrates office and had breakfast with our guests at Dames Chicken and Waffles. That evening we had a wedding reception at the home of John and Tana Willse. We wore Nigerian wedding garb for the reception. I also wore a “Gele”, a traditional Nigerian head wrap for women. We honeymooned in the country Panama for two weeks.”
Laura Caroline Spell married Ross Rick on June 25 in Chapel Hill at University Baptist Church with a reception following at the Great Room at Top of the Hill. The two honeymooned in Boone, NC the following week. Laura Caroline and Ross were featured in the Huffington Post this week: http://huff.to/29fbJmZ

UNCG Learning Factory Summer Camp Registration Now Open
UNCG’s Learning Factory Summer Camp is a maker camp for students led by classroom teachers. Throughout the one week in the makerspace, campers will engage in various activities in robotics, circuitry, engineering, digital storytelling, and computer science. The camp program will focus on building students’ capacities to use creativity, critical thinking and problem solving skills. 2016-2017 Yopp Distinguished Speaker Series in Mathematics Education Fall Speaker
The TEHE Mathematics Education Faculty are pleased to announce the Fall speaker for the 2016–2017 Yopp Distinguished Speaker Series in Mathematics Education. Dr. Robert Q. Berry, III will give a talk from 5–6:30 pm on October 5, 2016. His research focuses on equity issues in mathematics education, with a particular focus on African American boys. The talk will be designed for the broader community so please invite interested educators from local districts. (See the attached Save-the-Date flyer for more details.)

WebEx Transition
UNC Greensboro has officially transitioned from the SLMS (video conferencing) Blackboard Collaborate to WebEx. You have the option to use Blackboard Collaborate until July 2016, but it is in the process of being phased out to WebEx. Dr. Heidi Carlone (TEHE) will be giving one of the keynote presentations at the International Organization for Science and Technology Education (IOSTE) at the University of Minho (Braga, Portugal) on July 15. The title of the talk is: A vision and tools for an equitable and just science education.
CED was well represented at the International Interdisciplinary Conference on Clinical Supervision in Garden City, NY, last week. There were multiple presentations by Dr. Borders and alums (pictured left to right) – Dr. Leah Clarke, Dr. Gulsah Kemer, Dr. Laura Welfare, Dr. Bradley McKibbon, and Dr. Edward Wahesh.
In addition, Dr. Tamarine Foreman and Dr. Isabelle Ong teamed up to present on their mutual interest in trauma-informed supervision.
Several of the CED alums brought doctoral students from their own programs to the conference!
Dr. Borders chaired a working group meeting around setting up a Clinical Supervision Research Collaborative during the pre-conference; Drs. Kemer and McKibbon were participants as founding members.
