ERM students Yanyan Fu and Tyler Strachan entered a competition sponsored by the National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME) and the journal Educational Measurement: Issues and Practice. The graphic/data visualization competition is hosted every year in an effort to encourage innovation in data visualization techniques.

Their graph, “Conditional Means of Two-Dimensional Latent Abilities Given Observed Sum Score,” was one of four entries that were selected to be featured on the cover of the journal during 2017. We will post a link to the journal cover when it is released.

The graphic entry was a collaboration between the students, Terry Ackerman, SOE Associate Dean of Research and Assessment and ERM Professor, and two faculty from the Wake Forest School of Medicine, Dr. Shyh-Huei Chen and Dr. Edward Ip.
