Robyn Thomas Pitts, a current Ph.D. student in the Department of Educational Research Methodology, recently completed the University of North Carolina at Greensboro’s Silver Leadership Challenge. The challenge gives participating students chances to practice their leadership skills and refine their techniques and abilities. Participants begin to develop a portfolio of their leadership skills by working one-on-one with coaches to set personal growth goals and learn how they impact themselves and their community through their actions.

Robyn plans to use these skills to help ERM develop more student resources, such as a mentoring partnership for new students.

Students who complete the Silver Leadership Challenge are also given the opportunity to continue into the Gold Leadership Challenge in the following academic year.
