The iDEAL Summit is an annual community event in which we discuss and identify strategies to address information, diversity, engagement, access, and libraries (iDEAL) in our education, research, practice, and community-building. We recognize that diversity and social contexts determine the extent to which communities can access information, and we focus on preparing library and information professionals to provide relevant, appropriate, and effective services in diverse, globalized, and technological communities. This year’s iDEAL Summit will feature Laurence Copel, winner of the 1st Lemony Snicket Prize for Librarians Facing Diversity. For more information about Laurence Copel, you can visit her website (http://www.lower9streetlibrary.org/)or follow her on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/LowerNinthWa…). Several area librarians will also show how they promote outreach in North Carolina.
