Congratulations graduates! The Library and Information Science Faculty invite you to graduation on May 8th. There are three ceremonies:

  • 10 a.m. at the Greensboro Coliseum. Maximum pomp and circumstance but no one marches across the stage except doctoral students. You must be gowned and register to attend here. For more information go here. Only some LIS faculty attend this ceremony.
  • 2:30 p. m. [ending by 3:30] Departmental Graduation in SOE 120. There is little pomp but a certain amount of circumstance. You are acknowledged and applauded and you receive some nice parting gifts. Meaningful (usually short) speeches, pictures with faculty, and cake! You should be dressed in business casual. You must register here. Most LIS faculty will be in attendance.
  • 6:00 p.m. School of Education Graduation at the Coliseum. Must have a graduation robe for this one. There are speeches and you are called up to the stage with lots of other grads and undergrads. But it is fairly short… usually concludes by 8 or so. More information here. You must register for this one too by April 3, 2015 here. Some LIS faculty will attend.

You have many options. We hope that you will feel celebrated… it is an important occasion!
