• We have a department meeting about racial equity and other diversity, inclusion, and equity issues once a month (all faculty attend) • We are constructing a strategic plan/ goals document around DEI • Last semester we had facilitators from University Of WI Madison facilitate training on implicit bias for us, 100% faculty attendance, and all but 2-3 students attended • We are considering planning an annual survey to better understand student outcomes and will investigate any differences based on demographics • We plan to have a town hall/ symposium this spring for all ERM faculty and students • The majority of ERM faculty attended Dr. Boyce’s Mentoring and advising graduate students of color talk in October • We meet with Julie Mendez Smith, outgoing Chancellor’s Fellow for Campus Climate and Shelly Brown Jeffy, UNCG ADVANCE Co-PI, in December, they assisted us with goal setting around these issues
