Ty-Ron M.O. Douglas, Ph.D. (Class of 2012), an ELC alum, released a new book entitled Border Crossing Brothas: Black Males Navigating Race, Place and Complex Space on October 4, 2016. The book trailer can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.
Douglas served as a keynote speaker for the 2016 Colloquium on Black Males in Education held in Bermuda, where the book was launched and sold out in less than 48 hours.
Ashley McClain (Class of 2005) was named Guilford County Schools’ 2016 Elementary Teacher of the Year.
