Customizing the MLIS
The Library and Information Studies field consists of a rich variety of libraries requiring diverse skills and talents from its professionals. Due to the various types of libraries in the field, we allow students in our MLIS program the opportunity to focus on specific types of libraries and information oriented processes. Our department offers courses to allow students to focus their scholarly work on particular areas of librarianship within a larger array of different types of libraries.
Below are some suggested courses to help students plan out a particular destination in their studies. None of these courses are required, but they can help students who wish to refine their academic experience within a particular facet of librarianship.
