The Master of Library and Information Science (M.L.I.S.) emphasizes the rapidly changing library and information field. The degree requires 36 semester hours and is accredited by the American Library Association.


The Library and Information Science, M.L.I.S. Instructional Technology Concentration is designed for students desiring to work in the NC public school system as instructional technology directors, facilitators, or coordinators. Students completing this concentration successfully are eligible to apply for NC 077 licensure as technology directors.


The Library and Information Science, M.L.I.S. School Library Media Coordinator Concentration is an entry-level requirement for all North Carolina public school librarians that allows individuals to apply for licensure to work in public schools but also in any area of the library and information profession where a MLIS degree is required. 


The Master of Education (M.Ed.) with a concentration in Instructional Technology is for people who want to work as instructional technology professionals in K-12, and/or as instructional designers and training specialists in a wide array of environments including higher education, non-profit, government, corporate, and military settings.
