Partnered with the Michel Family Teaching Resource Center (TRC), the Student Educator Learning Faculty (SELF) Design Studio serves as a makerspace where School of Education (SOE) students can learn and create with hands-on resources and activities.

We are using our SELF Design Studio to teach 21st century skills by providing a space where ideas are advanced to the point of materialization. Patrons with ideas can plan, develop, and execute their ideas apart from the traditional classroom setting with hands-on experiences.

SOE faculty and students learn and create with hands-on resources and activities. The SELF Design Studio can allow students to interact with technology to build on their understanding, in practice, of what they are learning in the classroom.

Collaboration with area teachers and PK-12 students helps prepare pre-service teachers to become educational leaders who will engage students with innovative and creative learning models. The SELF Design Studio offers opportunities for in-service and pre-service teachers to utilize a variety of emerging technologies and tools including 3D printers, robotics, art supplies, and circuitry kits.

If there are things that you want to design then stop by the SELF Design Studio where we foster and support creativity and imaginative problem-solving, pushing to instill entrepreneurial thinking in all our users.
