Research Interests

Faculty in the M.Ed. Learning Sciences Program engage in research in a wide range of areas. These include: equity in science education; student culture/identity and learning; professional development in math education; educational psychology; motivation; self regulation; understanding student learning; sociocultural lens on learning; student belonging; teaching politics; and online education.

Core courses: (9 hours)

  • TED 669 Introduction to The Learning Sciences (3 hours)
  • TED 628 Learning and the Learner (3 hours)
  • TED 545 Diverse Learners (3 hours) or TED 646 Intro. to Equity Education (3 hours)

Content/Pedagogical /Research Expertise (18 hours)

  • Seven courses to be selected with advisement based on candidate’s focus

Professional Development / Leadership (6 hours)

  • TED 676 Teacher as Researcher and Learner I (3 hours)
  • TED 677 Teacher as Researcher and Learner II (3 hours)

Minimum Program Requirements

Initial A Licensure in Education and 2 years teaching experience or related educational professional/practitioner experience with appropriate degree (e.g., Psychology).
